Lab 3 Questions
1. The projection that is used in exercise 13a is Albers Equal Area Conic.
2.  After going through the tutorial, the WGS84 Datum seems most common.
3. The largest U.S. state in area is Alaska .
4. In step 19 of exercise 13a, Texas appears to be the largest state.
5. Export a separate map following step 5 in exercise 13b
6.  The off-set between the Albers and Lambert projections in exercise 13b in step 5; the cities are in the wrong states. For example, Columbus, Ohio is in Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee is in Alabama; Grand Rapids, Michigan is in Indiana; Auburn, Alabama is in Florida. Also, Myrtle Beach, Barnstable, and Manchester are in the ocean.

Chapter 3 Questions:

1. The appropriate order for each data layer are Cities Earhart Visited, Flight Path, Countries, and Graticule.
2. The U.S. Cities along Earhart's path are Oakland, Tuscon, New Orleans, and Miami.
3. The five countries Earhart's fly over are San Juan, Caripito, Paramaribo, Fortaleza, and Natal.
4. Earhart planned to refuel in Howland Island before going on to Hawaii.
5. The distance between Earhart's planned flight finish and probable finish path is about 770 kilometers. (768.55274 kilometers)
6. Howland Island.
7. Earhart visited 28 cities during her journey.
8. The shortest leg in Earhart's journey was about 180.017 kilometers.
9. The longest leg in Earhart's journey was about 3184.838 kilometers.

1. The feature classes I used in exercise 4a are cities, countries, disapp_area, and world30.

5. A data frame is a set of data that appears in the table of contents that is viewed in a layout view as a thumbnail of the map in data view.
