Lab 1: Three Maps

* Description: I picked this map because I was born and raised in the city of Las Vegas, N.V. One of our famous landmarks is The Strip. Many individuals visit Las Vegas, N.V. because of the casinos and extravagant hotels, which most of them are located on The Strip. This map shows all the major casinos in the exact order they are in if you are on Las Vegas Boulevard. This map is also color coordinated. All of the casinos are blue and the streets are yellow. Las Vegas Boulevard is the major street you would have to be on to see all of the hotel/casinos. I find this map interesting because it also shows other routes to take in order to reach Las Vegas Boulevard. If any of you have been to Las Vegas and visited The Strip you all experienced the crazy traffic. So knowing different routes will help you enter through the back of the casino's which is an easier way to help with parking for a quicker way to reach all the gambling and sightseeing!

* Description: I picked this map because I recently moved to the Los Angeles county and I was unfamiliar with the freeways. I found myself always getting lost because these freeways are pretty confusing. In the state of Nevada, we only have 5 freeways we needed to be familiar with. This map shows mostly all the freeways one could take to get from one city to another. I find this map interesting because it shows the different boundaries between the counties and the freeways. Another thing this map has is the distance between California cities by miles in the upper right hand corner which is always convenient.

*Description: This is a map of Spain. The reason I picked this map of Spain is because it is one of the countries I am looking forward to visiting. This map is Spain's Tourists Attractions and places of interest. I find it interesting because being an outsider looking in one can notice all the different countries based off how it is color coordinated. For example, if you were interested in The Autumn Festival in Madrid, by clicking on the link it will give you a brief description on all the Festivals and Celebrations across Spain.

*Description: I chose to create my map and post a video about Venice Beach. The first time I ever went to Venice Beach was when I was 18 with a group of friends. My very first reaction was that it was an ordinary beach, but what made my experience even better was the Venice Beach Board Walk. This board walk has a bunch of shops, musicians, hippies, food places, and individual vendors which is always great to see the talents and creativeness of other people. Big Daddy Pizza & Funnel Cakes, located on the Ocean Front Walk, is one of the best pizza and funnels cakes places to go to if you love pizza and sweets. Every time I go to Venice I always have to eat at Big Daddy Pizza & Funnel Cakes because the food is great and the price is very affordable.
